Stranded

This was supposed to be a very quick painting, but I ended working longer on it....again. Still, I didn't take as long as I suspected, so I'm kinda okay with it.
So yeah, last weekend I started playing the first Pikmin game again and I finished it in two days. It was really great because for me the Pikmin games have a high nostalgic value, not to mention they're lovely designed and fun to play. And thus I was inspired to make a Pikmin artwork. It shows Captain Olimar shortly after his ship crashed on the alien planet. I tried to display the contrast between the beautiful environment and Olimars dire situation, however I'm not perfectly satisfied with the outcome as the picture doesn't look, well, "alive". My plan was to make it so beautiful that the beholder could almost feel the gentle breeze of the scenery, but when I look at it I feel nothing. Oh well, it's still all right I guess.
